Rope Ascenders

Danger Buddies' CE & UIAA-certified ascenders are ideal for fast rope ascents such as when aid climbing or ascending a fixed line for photography. The perfect companion to our CameraBuddy on-wall camera bag, these ascenders feature oversized hand grips (ice climbers will love them - plenty of room to fit a gloved hand!) and additional gear clip-in spots. These ascenders are perfect to hang the CameraBuddy from while you're hanging on the rope shooting climbing pictures! Soft, ergonomic rubber-clad handles make your ascent comfortable, and an oversized cam makes for a smooth ascent, even in harsh conditions.

Choose left-handed or right-handed. If buying one ascender for general use, most climbers prefer their dominant hand. If purchasing for on-wall photography, we recommend a left-handed ascender, as you tend to hold your camera with your right hand. The choice is yours. In a pinch, either ascender can be used in either hand, but matching a left-handed ascender with your right hand and vice-versa will make it difficult to operate the cam lever with one hand, as you will need your other hand to remove the cam.
